This beat includes coverage of Roanoke and Botetourt counties, the city of Salem and the issues of growth and development in the Roanoke Valley. The reporter will be part of a team of journalists covering the Roanoke and New River valleys on news stories that affect the region, including local government, education and residential and retail development. The job includes occasional night and weekend shifts.
