Job Summary

The Crimson Council is comprised of student leaders from all nine Crimson Crew program areas. The goal is an active engagement that improves the student-staff experience. This engagement includes both personal and professional development of the student employees.

Responsibilities

Assist with the Crimson Crew employment process, which includes on boarding training. Specific requirements include:

o Ability to lead at least one Crimson Crew Training per semester

o Specific efforts will be dedicated to improving equity, diversity and inclusion efforts within the department

Plan, organize, and manage Crimson Crew events, with an emphasis on personal and professional development. Activities will also include team building and service-based projects.

Specific requirements include:

o Ability to plan, organize, and lead one event per semester

o Ability to attend at least two events per semester

o Specific efforts will be dedicated to improving equity, diversity and inclusion efforts within the department, including at least one EDI-centered seminar or event per semester

Serve as a representative for the assigned program area. This representation includes sharing information and updates, receiving feedback from colleagues regarding future event ideas, and promoting these events. Specific requirements include:

o Ability to attend bi-weekly meetings up to 9 times per semester

o Willingness to advocate for students who are under served, underrepresented, and marginalized within the Utah community and Campus Recreation Services

Make recommendations on assignments regarding operations and relevant issues, as needed

Multiple missed commitments and meetings will result in a review of Crimson Council status

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current University of Utah Campus Recreation Services employee
  • Support from the Manager of the Crimson Crew program area in which you wish to represent
